http://www.gpac.org/50under30/

This is a site everyone needs to see, especially those interested in human rights. It documents gender based crimes that have claimed more then 50 lives since 1995. The twelve page report that you can download from the site, called "50 Under 30, Masculinity and the War on America's Youth", is very informative and useful. It tells the stories of some of the victims of these unfortunate crimes, gives statistics on the crimes, and tells you what you can do to help this cause. This is definitely something to check out.

Massachusetts to Publicly Recognize Marriage of 26 Same-Sex Couples

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has ordered state officials to record the marriages of 26 out-of-state couples. Former Gov. Mitt Romney blocked the unions from being entered into the state registry, in an action Duval called “a gimmick to make what I feel was a discriminatory point."
The Supreme Judicial Court ruled in 2006 that Romney could use a 1913 law to prohibit out-of-state couples from marrying in Massachusetts if their home state did not allow gay marriage. The couples received marriage licenses in four towns protesting the ruling.
In announcing the order Patrick said, “It's a simple gesture to include the information on the register. Keeping it out was the gimmick."
